United Way Day of Caring
The United Way Day of Caring on September 17th had the following:
89 Locations volunteers worked at
770 volunteers
200 projects to complete
48 local organizations that took park
120 students from Frederick County Public Schools, Shenandoah University and Lord Fairfax Community College
Frederick County Government had a total of 26 volunteers
We had three different jobs our volunteers were split up to do and were the following:
- Millbank House at 3100 Berryville Pike, Winchester-cleared brush, cut down trees, pulled vines off exterior walls, racked, weeded, hand snipped small trees, stacked fallen bricks
- Clermont Farm, Berryville-painted, cleaned closets, swept, mopped, achieved various pieces of items from original buildings
- Client with Alzheimer’s Disease-mowed, power washed, swept and mopped kitchen, cleaned windows
