NRADC Book Policy Update:
Effective February 12, 2024 NRADC will only accept books from the following distributors:
- Amazon ( www.amazon.com ) (No marketplace or third-party vendors)
- Discover Books ( https://discoverbooks.com/ )
- SureShot Books ( https://sureshotbooks.com/ )
- Thriftbooks ( www.thriftbooks.com )
Books must come directly from the above distributors. Books from marketplaces or third-party vendors will not be accepted.
Magazines and newspapers must come directly from a publisher or one of the above websites. They may not be purchased through a marketplace or third-party vendor
Mail Restrictions:
- Inmates may send and receive an unlimited amount of mail. All mail is inspected for contraband. The inmate’s first and last name must appear on all pieces of correspondence. All personal mail, to include mail that is returned to sender, is scanned. The inmate can access their mail via the inmate tablet system. No items larger than A4 (8 ½ x 14) paper will be accepted. This includes over-sized greeting cards and drawings.
- All incoming mail must have a first and last name and complete return address in the upper left-hand corner of the envelope, and contain no additional pictures, images or words on the outside of the envelope. Mail may not weigh over 2 ounces. Photographs are accepted and will be scanned to the tablet. They may not be vulgar, obscene, or include gang related material.
- Money orders must be sent through the mail with inmate’s first and last name and the senders first and last name. Do not send blank money orders, cash, or personal checks. They will be returned to sender.
- Do not send stamps, envelopes, paper, pens, inappropriate pictures, plastic cards, phone cards, credit or debit cards, stickers, glued items and staples. Mail with perfume, lipstick, excessive amounts of glitter, etc. will not be scanned and will be returned to sender.
- Hardback, bound, and spiral bound books will not be accepted. Packages containing no more than (3) three paperback books and not exceeding a package weight of (4) four pounds will be accepted. Packages that contain items that do not meet criteria or are considered safety and security threats will be returned in their entirety. Photo books are not accepted.
- Personal care packages will not be accepted. Forwarded mail of any kind is not accepted and will be returned to sender.
- Greeting cards are accepted with the following exceptions; the greeting card may not contain an excessive amount of glitter, tassels, strings, pop-up etc., or be over-sized.
- Vulgar or obscene material will be returned to sender.
Grievance Procedure

Inmates may make an appeal of mail rejections through the grievance procedures or senders can appeal by sending a correspondence with an explanation of the appeal and a copy of the rejection or redaction notice (DC138 form) to the Captain of Security.
